Louisville Suzuki Workshop — October 24

STRINGS WORKSHOP
for violin and cello students, beginners through advanced
Saturday, OCTOBER 24th
Students in Suzuki Books 1-3 will have a public group class at 9:30 AM at the Louisville Palace, attend the 11-noon OrchKIDstra concert (tickets included in Workshop fee) and return for afternoon classes at Deer Park Baptist Church.
Students in Books 4+ have classes at Deer Park Baptist Church 10 AM-4 PM.
All Book 1+ students will have a choir class and play in the 4 PM Workshop Concert.

FACULTY:
Gabe Bolkosky, Violin. His debut solo album, This and That, was released in 2005 to critical acclaim and features both jazz and classical music. Other recordings include The Shape of Klez to Come, The Oblivion Project Live, The Orchestra Is Here to Play, and Non Sequitur (contemporary music). Bolkosky is a sought-after guest artist, performer, and teacher. In May 2008, Bolkosky made his debut at Carnegie Hall. As a member of the Phoenix String Quartet, he is guest artist in residence at the University of Michigan

Nadine Monchecourt, Cello, studied at the Eastman School of Music Preparatory Department and the Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. She performed many seasons with the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, and Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she performs with the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. She is also a Suzuki Cello Teacher in the Suzuki Cooperative of the Cincinnati Public Schools

Hays Hendricks, Violin, is Director of the Southeast Missouri Music Academy at Southeast Missouri State University. She began violin study at the age of 7 in the Suzuki program at the University of Louisville with Carol Hughes. She received teacher training from Lorraine Fink, Kay Collier Slone, Doris Preucil and Margery Aber

Dr. Steve Hendricks, Choir, Director of Choral Activities and Associate Professor of Music Education at Southeast Missouri State University, has degrees in music education with an emphasis in vocal music and conducting from the University of Louisville and Ball State University. An active teacher and conductor, his children’s choirs have performed with the Louisville Ballet, the Louisville Orchestra, and the Kentucky Opera
